Went to the Broken Bow area to do some fly fishing with my dad.
Came back with a few keepers.
But no fish.

I can't tell you how many times on trips my dad has had to "strike a pose" and hold still for a few seconds so I can get the motion in the water.
He is such a good sport about it.

Only other photographers, my dad and wife can put up with me and my photography.

Here is Broken Bow Lake.

Did luck out and find a nice but small waterfall.

Hey Keith,

That looks like a cool area. In #1 and 2, the browns (rocks) are coming across muddy feeling, like there was a feathered blend of highlights and shadows. Not sure if that is the case. I like the action in #1 the best.

As to catching no fish... that's why as a teenager I had realized I could catch more photographs than I could fish, so I stopped wasting my time fishing...

Keith, I like the water in the second one, it seems to mirror the clouds. Though the third one really has caught my eye. It's nice you can get out with your Dad, treasure those moments, as I'm sure you do. Rick

Thanks guys.
Jim, the second one was a "focus" blend. Real long exposure for the water, then an infinity focus for the sky and island.

Rick, I really cherish the trips my dad and I take. We go somewhere nice every year. Just he and I. We have taken our wives with us once to Banff. But swore to never do that again.
We try to go to a place where we can split the trip 50/50 photography and fishing. But it's been mostly a bust for him on the fishing.

The first for me. Since I know Fred, good to see him having a day away from the practice. Bring him back to the OlyPen with his Salmon gear next time.

Improve your fly fishing while on the Madison river and you'll be torn between plentiful rainbow trout and Eagles overhead!

Very nice set of soft light scenes, Keith. Especially like the shot of your Dad.
