Michael, very, very beautiful shots...
And I know how hard it is to make *beautiful* pictures in what are beautiful places: everything is nice around, leading to lots of shots. But in the end, most pictures end up just being boring. Yours instead are truly remarkable, and your post processing is very nice too.
One question, being a 24 1.4 addicted myself: how do you manage all the quirkynesses of that lens?
No copy I have tried (4) is really sharp at f1.4 (and at f2 they are just so so), and all of them exhibit enough focus shift on stopping down as...Show more →
as far as the 24 1.4 goes, I rarely shoot it stopped down, prefer 1.6- 1.8. I tried 3 different copies before the one I currently have and this one is tack sharp even at 1.4.
Focusing I use continuos with single point and it hits it's mark 90% of the time.
If I need to shoot stopped down at 24mm I use the 16-35.
It's the only lens I would not sell as it has become my favorite length for documentary style portraits. Oh, have you tried fine tuning the focus on yours, as mine needed -10 on my D800.
