Then you really wouldn't like the PanaLeica 42.5mm f/1.2, which is essentially completely devoid of spherical aberration. The Fuji has some at f/1.2...essentially gone by f/1.8. At f/1.2 it's light enough that you can compensate for it on most images by a gentle contrast tweak, but still is flattering for portraits. It can show up a bit with white against dark, though.

yeah, it looks really good as 85/1.8 replacement on FF but just lacks exciting character to me.

Panasonic Leica 42.5mm f/1.2 @ f/1.2, near MFD - this focuses pretty close for a medium telephoto:

Yes, I dig both Breaking Bad and Dawn of the Dead so it is a perfect t-shirt =)

Sebboth, I particularly like #1. How exactly is this lens classified, I understand it is more able than being used on a crop camera but it does not fully cover an FF camera

Steve, is that sturgeon from the new Toronto Ripley's aquarium. I was there recently but don't remember seeing anything that looked like that!

Yes it is from the new Ripley's Aquarium. At the entrance they are off to the right, but it is a big place and very crowded right now, so it is easy to miss things. I am looking forward to another visit.

A heavy shower last Autumn at Wastwater in the English Lake District. You should just be able to make out the mountains at the head of the lake through the rain.

Ok, thanks, I'll have to check it out next time. Apparently the best time to go is in the morning on any
weekday except Friday (school trips and PA days are usually on Fridays).

it's an aps-c lens (well half frame lens which is almost the same as aps-c). it just has a bigger image circle than necessary. i think if you crop a FF image to 4x5 aspect ration it should work fine.

here's a stopped down version of the second shot that makes the edges of the image easier to see:

and a couple of dreamy wide open shots on the nex-5N:

I really enjoyed looking back at the last few pages - the creativive possibilities there are with such a narrow DOF! Absolutely incredible!

This was taken in a dark room, she is lit by her laptop. We were watching something scary on TV and the show was dark, so no help from the TV. ISO5000

What 55 1.2 were you using? I have a Revuenon 55 1.2 coming next week, and I'm curious to see how it stacks up?
