This is the last generation of the Nikkor 55/1.2 that is factory AI. So it is multicoated like the SC's but not a converted aperture ring.

Here are a few from the Daytona 24. . .A7 + CV35/1.2 II

They might be cross-posts from the A7 thread.

Hey downfall...your Cosina 55...does the aperture ring run backwards, like Nikon, or is it the same as Canon? Curious to know. The Revuenon I found has the aperture ring similar to Nikon! But, it also has 9 blades, too! Very nice shots above, btw!
Great images with the CV 35 Taylor! How does it balance on the A7?

Just clicked on that link..and it has expired, but I did find 2 on eBay. But, they look like the aperture ring and f-stops are backwards, similar to Nikon mount?! Is that right?

Gregg -- Correct. The aperture ring for the Pentax mount Cosina 55 1.2 turns the other way which is similar to Nikon. See pic below. The focusing direction is the same as Leica R lenses. On the other hand, the Pentax 50 1.2 is exactly like Nikon lens -- aperture and focusing directions are opposite when compared to Leica R lens.

Thanks Gregg! It balances pretty well. It's not as perfect as many smaller RF lenses, but it's not bad. I'm used to it on the Nex-7 and the A7 is a better fit, for sure.

Went looking for inspiration and remembered I still had an M2 extension tube. Macro! Lets try it with the new 55/1.2AI! (D7000)

Wide open... Focus is on the edge of the leaf. DOF is about 1mm.

Same shot, f/8. Still impressed at the bokeh.

_DSC8898 by Kevin.Woodard, on Flickr

Again... f/1.2... Damn short DOF, love it!

One more with the 55/1.2 @ f/1.2. I took this handheld. I am getting the hang of where it appears in focus through the viewfinder vs. what the sensor plane actually sees.

75% crop. She just had to make a face. My oldest.

Here are a handful from the Fuji XF 56mm f/1.2 @ f/1.2. This is probably the finest f/1.2 lens I've ever used (though it may be unseated tomorrow when I get my hands on the PL 42.5mm f/1.2). Very sharp wide open, nice accurate AF, great tonality and, while not perfect, I like the bokeh quite a bit.

looks extremely good, possibly a bit to lacking spherical aberration for my taste, but i'm weird that way.

What is the complete text on the shirt? Or do you also have a picture of the whole shirt?

Then you really wouldn't like the PanaLeica 42.5mm f/1.2, which is essentially completely devoid of spherical aberration. The Fuji has some at f/1.2...essentially gone by f/1.8. At f/1.2 it's light enough that you can compensate for it on most images by a gentle contrast tweak, but still is flattering for portraits. It can show up a bit with white against dark, though.

Here are a couple shot with the Minolta Rokkor 58 f/1.2 at the aquarium. The fish is a sturgeon, a very old and pretty cool species native to the Great Lakes.
