Once again, I have taken the suggestions made to me by the wonderful people on this forum and tried to improve the two amaryllis shots that I had posted earlier. I changed the "bluish" white balance, changed the cropping, added a different border (one not so intrusive), and added a small amount of blur to make the pictures less sharp-looking. I also removed the distracting bud. The one thing I changed on my own without advice was to make the flower in the now square photo a little smaller. Somehow, when I changed the crop, the previous flower seemed too large for me in the new frame.
Again, I thank all the people who gave their time and expertise to help me improve my photography skills. I only wish I could have made these photos as good as the improved ones Karl posted. As always, I so much appreciate your feedback, and I thank you all.
Well the flowers are reddish-pink... so a greenish yellow would just make them explode!!! Also try to make the complementary colors muted. Oh man that would be cool
