I recently purchased a NP-E3 replacement battery for my 1DII. It's not genuine (I paid 25 $ for it).
It is brand new, but when I put it in the camera, it seems the locking mechanism isn't that secure,it's pretty crappy and very often my camera justs shuts down (as if the contact on the battery is failing). It seems that this is caused by the rotating locking mechanism which is not secure/stable.
Do I risk damaging the camera/shutter if it does that often? sometimes it dies and I lose the last picture taken,or the shutter remains half way stuck.
I know I didn't pay much (compared to a brand new genuine battery) but I would expect it would at least FIT.
I used a lot of bp-511 replace batteries for my 5dc and they worked nicely, I also use replace LP-E6 batteries from ebay, for my 5DII and they work nicely...
I really cannot afford to pay almost 25 % of my salary on a damn stupid genuine np-e3 battery. The price is insane.
