Can someone tell me how to check actuations on the 1Dmk4?

I cant seem find any program on line that will check it for the mark 4 and that works on a MAC.

Thanks!

You can't, but Canon can.

If you have access to Internet Explorer, you can use this website:

http://eoscount.com/

It works for me, but I run on Windows.

From the above website:

"Which cameras are supported for shutter count retrieval?
Single-DIGIC III and all DIGIC IV EOS cameras are supported. For example, shutter count can be read from the Rebel XS, Rebel XSi, Rebel T1i, Rebel T2i, Rebel T3, Rebel T3i, 60D, 7D, 5D Mark II, and the 1D Mark IV.

DIGIC II and dual DIGIC III cameras are not supported. For example, the shutter count is not available for the original 5D (Mark I), the 1D Mark III, and the 1Ds Mark III."

As far as I understand, as of the Canon 1D MarkIII, shutter count is now proprietary info only accurately attainable by Canon themselves.

I would have to agree with Binh Ly, EOSCOUNT seems to pull up an accurate count on both of our 1D4's.

The EOSCOUNT seems to work, the count it gave is very close to what I would expect my 1D4 to have.

I can verify that EOSCount seems to work for the 1DIV and 7D cameras. It doesn't give one for the 1DIII.

It tells me 27476 for my 7D, and that's about right for that one. It tells me 21K on this 1DIV. Previous owner believed it to be in the 15K range, and I've shot two event swith it so far.

Anxious to check my newest 1DIV when it gets here.

9337 on my 1D4. This seems very close to what I would expect (having not reset the counter and it being in the 9k's). EOSCount.com seems to work.

I used Aperture, where all of my picurures live, to calculate how many pictures I have from each camera body. I assume any database program like Lightroom will be able to do the same.

You keep ALL your pictures? In one single library at that? Wow.

All of my full res 240,000+ images and videos are stored on external drives linked to one Aperture library that is stored on internal HD on my MacPro. Works great for me.
