Hey Adam,

You had the right idea in this shot, but to me it falls short in two areas.

#1 the road on the right is pretty distracting. I different crop, or composition to eliminate that from the shot would help.

#2 the sky is blown out too much. The trees along the top of the horizon are already black (too dark actually) but since they are dark, using an ND grad to cut down the exposure would have helped the sky.

As a suggestion, I would go the opposite time of day when you shot this. If this was an evening shot, go in the morning and have the sun behind you, lighting up the scene. Or if it was a morning shot, shoot it in the afternoon... it will make a huge difference.

I didn't know Ontario had Bad Lands, I was expecting to see North or South Dakota. Nice tones, have you tried it as a bw?

Thanks for the feedback. I will reprocess and post another version.
It was taken in the evening. I doubt I will be back any time soon to try a morning version.

I am looking into getting a ND filter

The exposure looks good for the lighting you were working with. The road is in this shot because of the wide angle lense used. A split ND filter will help tone down the sky.

Interesting looking area.

Hey Adam,

Sweet! I really like the edit here, this shot really sings!

Edit your title to say (+1) or (edited) so that others who have already viewed this will know to come give your thread a second look.
