I'm thinking 70-200L f/4

Already have through 85mm covered. (have the 55-250mm, but would like to step up quality)

Don't really need 2.8 or IS. (well, IS would be nice I guess... but this will spend plenty of time tripoded)

Want something to get in tighter on mountain ranges, sunsets, etc... just about anything landscape really.

Shooting crop right now, so this should be plenty tight, I'd think.

Can't think of anything better than the 70-200 for this purpose. I'm reading it's pretty sharp across its range...

Is the 70-300L too rich? Or a used 100-400L?

70-200f4L is a great lens and wont be beaten for the price.

Remember tho only the IS ones are weather sealed if thats important.

You have made a good choice. I own the IS version, love it. I also have a friend's non-IS version in my cabinet, and it's tack sharp as well.

The 70-200mm f/4 zoom was one of my favorite lenses.

The 70-200mm f/4 IS is probably my favorite lens. I have it mounted at all times!

If you can afford the IS, get it. You'll get shots you never believed possible.

I dont think you get a tripod collar with the f4 BTW so add that in for extra, there are cheaper 3rd party ones around.

The 70-200f4 non-IS was my first L lens and it was excellent.
Sharp, fast focusing, solidly built and one of the best values.
If 200mm is enough, you really can't go wrong with this choice.
