I was in my local camera shop (keeble and shuchat in Mountain View CA) and they had a couple in their case (as of Saturday.) They didn't have any on display to look at but they had two or three on the shelf.
I picked one up from Ace Camera in VA. They seem to get the in stock pretty regular. I just received it today as a matter of fact and I have to say, probably the best grip Nikon has produced to date.

it should be.....about twice as expensive as other grips, plus the $200 battery...it all adds up!
I just got mine, it's my first removable grip. After owning a number of 1 Series bodies I've got to say this really isn't bad. It's a quality unit and handles more like a normal full size body then I expected. Until you put the sled full of double A's into it and you realize it's no normal full size weight wise!. Never owned a full size Nikon body but I'm assuming they are not this heavy either. I'm sure the D4 battery sled is lighter as well but if one doesn't already own a battery and charger . . . . . . ouch!
