p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Recommend a Good Fast Card Reader - for cam 5d mk3 files

Hi

i have just upgraded my 5d mk 1 to a mk3
and my old External sandisk card reader now is a bit slow - reads 3.5mb per second

as i have the 5d mk3 files which are double the resolution of the mk1
i would like to get a better card reader for my PC

i have usb 3 on my machine and i have always used sandisk cards and external card readers

would like to find out some recommendations please

thanks

I use the Lexar Professional USB 3.0 dual slot reader and I think a lot of other folks here do too. It does CF and SD cards. Not terribly cheap, but it is pretty fast.

thanks for that advice

the old sandisk all in one is really showing its age - especially now that i will be using 16 gb / 32gb cards with the 5D mk3

Yeah, that is the one. I remove the outer part to eliminate the popup annoyance and make it more compact for travel.

how long would you like it to be? it has A and B type connectors at the ends so you can use different cables. i have 1ft cables and 3ft ones. the 1ft ones come from my external USB3 drives.

The (only) cable that came with mine is a bit longer than 40 inches.
