California ground squirrels are neat to watch, as they slither around on the sand beach, and dig for food. I have no idea how they can cope with all the sand in their eyes, and other places. These images were taken at Crystal Cove State Park south of LA. All were taken hand held with a Canon 7D and 400mm f5.6 lens.
1. Slithers like a snake at times.
2. Taking a rest from digging to check out the photog. Just a bit of wet sand stuck to its fur. The big thing on the left is a kelp holdfast. Not as sharp as I'd like.
3. Eating whatever it found. Never did see what it was it found.
If you'd like to comment, don't hold back! I appreciate all words of wisdom.
