I continue to be impressed with both the dynamic range of the D800, and the AF acquisition and tracking even with the TC-14E II attached to my 300 f/4.
If you're still on the fence about getting a D800... get it, you'll love it.

I am still wet behind the ears...(only had mine for 2 days now) but I have to say It is along with if not a bit better than some of the MF gear I have had experience with in the scope of Dynamic Range.
Still not what our eyeballs see...but much closer than we have ever gotten.
