My goal was to shoot tight and keep it sharp ala some of the better shooters on here...Paul, Frank, etc.

I'm nowhere near the Hammy level where I can tell the lighting guys what to do but dang if I didn't want to. The light absolutely died at the back and sides of the mat. If I was shooting a larger team, 30+ kids, it was brutal trying to get every stunt group.

It's coming along but I'm sure there is room for improvement. Let me know what you see.

#4

#5 Not necessarily a tight shot but the background makes it for me.

#6

#7
Not the best picture but it's my daughter so I had to throw one in there for her.
Thanks for looking.

Correction: #7 is your best picture because it is your daughter.

Very nice exposures and skin tones. Love the light in #6.

Don't like the crop in #2 and a few others but I guess that's just the price you pay for shooting tight.

Nicely done. FWIW, I don't think Hammy had much luck with the lighting guys either, at least last go around.

I would have to agree with Larry, the exposures look really good. It's always tough with stage lighting to get everyone across the mat properly exposed. I always find myself changing shutter speeds, and then forgetting to change it back.

I would have to say #3 is my favorite. I like the cropping. Nice Job.

Really good looking set you have here. I have to go with #6 with the backlighting... but the others are winners too. I'm assuming you were getting the base in #2 which will get you some unflattering crops at times, but I don't think that bases mom will care. I think you handled the stage lighting well, exposures look very nice, great job, keep shooting and posting.

Understand that I am NOT an elite shooter like others here-- still learning myself, but the only thing I see here is that the images seem a little bit on the orange side. The whites don't look exactly white BUT it could be the fact that I am viewing while at work...... and the white text on these pages isn't white either... Since the other guys didn't mention it, I wouldn't put too much wieght on what I just said.
