Looks like you are enjoying the XE1 Mike. Love the waterfall and the colors in the flowers look great. Did you use Velvia preset on them or are the colors post?

^ - thanks, the X-E1 is just a fun camera to go out and shoot with and the IQ really is nice.

These were all shot RAW with PP in LR, but I've just started experimenting with the jpegs to see what I think of them - the only negative that I've noticed so far with the jpegs is less ability to recover blown highlights.

PS: If I hate it, all of you posting these great shots are to blame :-)) One last thing..can you get to the SD card with an RRS plate on the XE1?
Thank You!

Greg,

Yes you can get access to the battery and the sd card with the RRS plate, works well.

First post from me in this thread. I've bought an X-E1 and the 35/1,4. I took it to Cyprus and I got a few pictures:

Interesting, i just was considering last night to getting a canon 55 1.2 eventually. How is the MF action with the XE EVF? People seem to say the 3x mag mode isnice, but is that good enough for a 1.2 lens?

And, finally, X-E1 w/ the Fuji 35. Apologies for the image dump, but I figured it might be interesting to see the same X-E1 shot in the same general places over a few days with a variety of very differently drawing lenses. All processed from RAW w/ Aperture via the eye of the same photographer.

I find MF with the X-E1 pretty easy. It's not fast, because with the Fuji lenses you're dealing with fly by wire, and with an older MF lens you still face the relatively slow redraw of the EVF. So don't think it's going to be super speedy.

That said, it's quick enough and super accurate obviously.

With my particularly copy of the FL 55 f/1.2 the focus ring is very damp. Focus throw is pretty long. The combination of light body with dense/heavy lens doesn't make the MF process feel quick.

This happened Monday morning. Not sure who caused the fire but I'm thankful that the Edmonton Fire Rescue responded very quickly.

So I got my XE1 and kit 18-55 in today.

So far, I really like the IQ. The JPEGs are pretty freakin' good actually - which is pretty good, coming from me! In fact, the colors are so great, I've stopped trying to screw around with RAW to get the same look (maybe I'll try SilkyPix or just process in-camera).

Still learning the controls, it's a pretty "methodical" (read: slow) camera, but that's just fine for most of what I'm shooting - I have the 5D3 for speed, but this lil booger is pretty damn nice when it comes to the files it spits out.

The camera handled those last two shots (very high DR) admirably, I am really impressed and I can't wait to do some real shooting with the setup.

Two very different shots here....
I probably should've gone a stop high shutter speed wise on the first image, but it still serves.

The second is with my very talented model/photographer/fashion designer friend Julia....
so wonderful to work with people who can figure out what I want from a vaguely worded sentence!

Though the 35 isn't my favorite lens due to what I consider somewhat boring rendering (read: perfect) it certainly is quite useful....and stupidly sharp!
