Thanks for your reply! So in your opinion between LR5 and C1 I should be able to expect the same level of quality as I am currently getting on my Nikon RAW files in LR4?

Not answer for him, but I would guess so. When I get a particularly stubborn image, I break out DCRaw to get a TIFF and then bring it into LR or whatever.

Could always get a used XE1 as a backup, cheaper than both of those you are looking at. Just a thought. I loved my XE1, wish I still had it.

Where can I find X-E1 cheaper than X-M1/X-A1? The way I see it, I can just buy the X-A1 kit and sell the kit lens making the overall cost cheaper.

I have seen used XE1's here for $375 or less. Your idea to buy the kit and sell the lens is probably a good one (the kit lens isn't bad, might be good for your wife).

I think you can find a used, mint XE1 for around $350-400 here, and at this price, it's a steal, a better camera than XA/XM1 I guess.
I really love my XE-1. I preordered XT1 and even when I get my XT1, I won't sell my XE1 and will use it as a second camera.

Very nice! I think X14mm will be my next lens, or 10-24mm.

I will be holding on to mine as well... (Unless I find an XE2 at a price I can't refuse!

My old XE1 is the only camera I have regretted selling.

I was going to sell my X-E1, since I shoot with the E2 for most things and grab my X-M1 when I want something smaller, but given the current prices, it's worth more as a backup. I'll probably only take it out once every few months, but it'll be nice to have an EVF backup should my X-E2 go down. I'll sell it if I pick up an X-T1 in the future...I don't think I need 4 bodies.

Make sure you like your XE2 first before selling XE1 because some people say the skin colors are quite different between two sensors at high ISO as I read ;-)
Me too, I will make sure I like JPEG colors of XT1.

Love my X-E1. And for the current price, I think it's the best camera for the buck.

I was in your shoes for about a week. I decided on the X-M1, because of all the good things I've heard about the X-Trans sensor. I feel like I need a refreshing look than the Canon DSLR's I'm used to.

I also happened to find an amazing deal from another person - used and supposedly mint condition, $450 for the body and 16-50 lens. I should be receiving it next week and I will be a happy, happy man

Just pulled the string on the X-M1 for $511. Figured that if I was going to use it even 10% of the time, it'll be nice to have the same sensor in the X-M1 and the X-T1. The GR is going on the B&S boards as soon as I get the X-M1.

I'd vote the xm-1, esp considering it will be JPEG usage. Fuji's JPEG processing on these sensors is pretty darn good... And judging by the discounted sales price of the XA1, I'd guess they are considering dropping the bayer sensor out of their lineup...

The JPEG's out of the X-A1 are every bit as good as the X-M1, although the rendering differs slightly.

If you're going by discounts right now, the X-M1 is $200 off while the X-A1 is only $100 off (for the kits with the 16-50). I'd think it's more likely they'd drop the X-M1 since it's essentially the same camera at an excessive price premium over the X-A1. The X-A1 also has the advantage that it will tempt shooters who are skeptical about X-Trans (hey, it worked on me).

The first image reminds me a little of the "Stacks" in the book Ready Player One. In the book, they are stacked trailers, not apartments, but the feel is similar. Nice work.

That's a good idea. I was going to do it with my Gx1, but I think it makes more sense with the X-E1.
Now where to do it....Lifepixel doesn't do Fujis I don't think...Spencer's? Somewhere else?

MaxMax will do it - apparently it's one of the more time-consuming conversions they do, so I believe they charge close to $500. However the sensor array (even with the IR filter in place) gives such rich B&Ws as-is, I can only imagine as an IR camera the results would rival pretty much anything out there. Kind of a nice repurpose for an "outdated" camera model.

Just got an X-E1. I am impressed with the image quality but the EVF leaves a lot to be desired. Any tricks with having a better experience with it?
