Pardon my slow reply. The EVF is great on the X-T1, much much better than the one on my just sold XP-1 it truly is a night and day difference. I compared it to my A7R and there is not doubt over all the finder is better and easier on my eyes. Though I still prefer an optical finder, the only thing I will miss from the XP-1. My short test, tells me focus peaking is better on the Sony, but that may only be because I have been using it for the past three months.

I had bought thought the A7r might be a good walk around camera, but for a variety of reasons I don't like it in that capacity. It has fantastic image quality, much better than my 5d3. So I am going to use it the way I had originally intended as a sort of "digital back" for my bit Zeiss ZE primes and Canon TSE lenses with the 5d3.

The X-T1 will be my "daily use carry around" camera, with the 14, 35 and as of Friday the 56 1.2. I loved the image quality of the XP1, so now I have slightly better IQ and much better ergonomics. I will write up a mini-review when I have had more time to pay with it over the weekend.

A couple of weeks ago I fell and broke my X-E1 and 14mm lens. Miss it, so I ended up ordering an X-A1 for an incredibly low price and I look forward to try it.

Jman & lost, I'm looking forward to your thoughts on the 56mm!

Helena, awesome houseboat capture! I also really like the grazing tree... Was that done w/ an IR filter, or is or PP?

Thanks, glad you like them! No filter, just post processing. It was a foggy day though, so it didn't take much work to get that look. I lifted the shadows and added a slight warm tint using split toning in Lightroom.

Thanks! Yes, it's from an old boat. They don't have a lot of trees up there, so I guess they want(ed) to put everything to good use.

I have owned the XE-2 since December and love it a lot. I have an XT-1 on order. Currently shooting with the 18-55, 14 and 23 with the 55-200 on the way.

I'm torn between the X-A1 and the X-M1. Ordered the X-T1 and sitting here with a 27 pancake with no body. Figured I would get another body as a second body and one my wife can use. If it's for the wife it'll be JPEG only. Looking at the price, the X-A1 is $449, but there's a like new X-M1 on Amazon for $511 as opposed to $599 new. So for about $60 I can get the X-M1 for the X-Trans sensor.

My thoughts
- X-M1 is x-trans, so is the X-T1. Might be nice to have simliar rendering.
- X-A1 is traditional and tested bayer sensor. Seems like it gets better marks for lower ISO while the X-M1 seems to get better higher ISO marks.

For $150 difference I would go for X-A1, but for $60 difference, I'm undecided. The X-T1 is going to be my workhorse, this would be a backup/camera for the wife or something I could throw the pancake on.

I'd vote the xm-1, esp considering it will be JPEG usage. Fuji's JPEG processing on these sensors is pretty darn good... And judging by the discounted sales price of the XA1, I'd guess they are considering dropping the bayer sensor out of their lineup...

If your main camera is the T1, I think it would simplify processing and your presets to get the M1.

I'm in exact same predicament as I currently do not have any camera body but 35mm and 27mm on the way. Since my main concern is price (because second body might not be used too much after getting X-T1) I'm thinking about getting X-A1 (unless there is a good deal on X-M1).

Could always get a used XE1 as a backup, cheaper than both of those you are looking at. Just a thought. I loved my XE1, wish I still had it.

I have a question for all you Fuji RAW shooters. Last year, I owned the X100s for a few weeks, but the "painterly" effect in RAW file processing was a bit too much for me. I am intrigued by the new XT-1 model, so I am curious if RAW processing issues are still present with Fuji files or if these issues have been fixed. I use Lightroom 4 exclusively. Thanks!

I was in your shoes for about a week. I decided on the X-M1, because of all the good things I've heard about the X-Trans sensor. I feel like I need a refreshing look than the Canon DSLR's I'm used to.

I also happened to find an amazing deal from another person - used and supposedly mint condition, $450 for the body and 16-50 lens. I should be receiving it next week and I will be a happy, happy man

Well, Lightroom 4 won't process any of the new Fuji cameras, so you'd need to upgrade to 5. The current LR is much better than it used to be, but it's still not as good as some others. In the vast majority of shots it does a very nice job, but it can still get funky in the right circumstances. I use C1 Pro for those times (and for high ISO stUff, since C1 just does an awesome job for high ISO images (for all cameras).

Thanks for your reply! So in your opinion between LR5 and C1 I should be able to expect the same level of quality as I am currently getting on my Nikon RAW files in LR4?
