I was just going to suggest this. I read the review last night. Seems to jive with what many others are stating. It is kind of a shame that Zeiss is farming this out to Cosina. At least Zeiss seems to have the last step in assembly and quality control, but I hear about all the QC issues Voigtlander has (whose lenses are also made by Cosina). It gives me a little bit of pause.

I hate it when some zeiss lenses try to add sharpness to oof areas like that, it has put me off normal and longer zeiss for good. I remember my C/Y 85/1.4 which I bought pretty much blind, I took one photo wide open and for a while I thought the lens was defective or fake

I only knew the Canon L type bokeh at the time...

Probably the last day for our snow/ice.
Our tilted Frosty fell later in the day with rising temps.

Pictures are technically nice, only the background / occasion seems a bit irritating (to me).
Was this a movie set or what's the motto there?

I don't understand your question. When you say the background is irritating, are you referring to the out of focus highlights?

XE1 with Exakta mount Carl Zeiss Jena Biotar 2/58... Found some Exakta mount extension tubes to shoot with. About 60mm worth. Retro style meets old school gear.

Setup is about 1:1. Flower buds are 3mm in length.

Well, this is a living history event at a local museum. The interpreters have nothing but the utmost respect for the subject matter. The idea is to talk about equipment, share stories about life as a soldier etc. The museum does it's fair share of American Revolution, American Civil War as well as WWII events.

Don't get me wrong. I love the pictures and I don't have problem with the setup. I was just trying to answer your question because I saw that he/she is in/from Germany
