In case that it hasn't been linked here already, here is a site that just published their own favorite X-Pro-1 photos of 2013:
they are - in my opinion - stunning, mainly for colour and tonality.

As much as I like Olaf's stuff I think these are extremely overdone...

Beautiful shots of beautiful model. Lovely colors and they are so vivid, clear, and bright.

While I'm sure the XF 56mm f/1.2 will be sharper than these, this gives a good idea of what the depth of field and background blur will look like. First is with the Canon FL 55mm f/1.2, second is with the Canon FD 85mm f/1.8 with Speed Booster (so, 60mm f/1.3).

Beautiful shot John. Feels like I can step through my monitor onto that rocky beach.

Couple shots with a piece of "low-end Nikon glass"... Bunch of hogwash if you ask me. I have most of them and I have always found them to be quite nice, at least on Dx.

Series E 50mm f/1.8 @ f/4 with a 27.5mm extension tube. This shot is just shy of 1:1 (like 1:1.6).

Same setup as above, @ f/2.8... Nice and shallow DOF, even with "consumer glass"

Went a little artsy on this one. Hope you like it. Same Series E 50mm @ f/5.6

Thanks Kevin.
A really nice set with the 50e.
I too enjoy the cheap glass. The e series in particular.
All that material shaving back in the day translates nicely to today's adapted mirrorless.

Btw, I really like the filmic quality.

I like this. Nice conversion. Looks almost like an octopus. I had one of those lenses. Was a lot of fun to use. I have the newer 55/2.8 AIS, but mine sat for too long and now has oil on the aperture and the focus is nearly seized. I am out of helical grease so it just sits. It is still usable, I left it at its optimum settings for macro. Perhaps I will break it out tomorrow and go bug hunting.

I appreciate the comment. I also like the film look and most of my shots I try for that feel. The tree shot was an attempt at the old lumography style with light leaks and such. I did an example in the daguerreotype style that I also liked. About the only thing I wish the Series E would give is more of the 3D look. I only have one lens that does that, another cheapy...Carl Zeiss Jena Biotar 2/58. Wish it was a Red T version, but does ok with a shade. I love the fact that I can adapt so many different lenses to my Fuji. That is where the fun comes in for me.

I bought Iridient while it was on sale - while the interface is… a little unsophisticated, it's really great for any situation where you want to maximize detail.

Same here. I don't use it often, as it really puts the "work" back in workflow, but for certain images it does a much better job than Lightroom.

I bought VSCO 4 quite a while ago after many positive opinions, but still struggle with the extreme results. Having liked Velvia 50 film a lot, I consider the VSCO results just as a maybe artistic interpretation. Here PhotoNinja and Velvia 50-.

I don't think that looks unrealistic at all - it's what I'd expect if I were using V50 or 100.

molson - I use Capture One for most Fuji files - I think Iridient can take detailed scenes further, but for anything with people I still prefer C1.

matsu - is that White Point (San Pedro)?

I never experienced Velvia 50 as bold as the VSCO interpretation.
An old film scan: Mont Fuji peeks thru the clouds.
