Lucky you!
Do you still have the XE-1 also?
I am VERY interested in the differences from the sensor.
Differences in the RAW files actually.
What app do you use for the RAWS?
I'm on a PC, I'm currently using PhotoNinja.
I need to try and use Capture One Pro more and compare the two.
PLEASE let us know what you think.
Thanks!

This arrived today. I've transferred my AA strap and lensmate thumb rest from the X-E1, as well as dialled in camera settings, assigned functions to Fn buttons, etc. Can't wait to start shooting with it.

Yes, I find that you MUST use a tripod with the type of lens.
The DOF is so thin, ANY and ALL movement is greatly amplified/magnified.
I also use a cheap USB release.
I find a release is also a MUST, unless you put it on 10 second timer.

Just keep in mind, you need a really good tripod and ball head.
I also find that a release is a must have also.

How do you find the AF on this thing? Did you get a chance to update the firmware on the lenses?

Buggz, I have a good tripod and a gimbal head, but never thought a release would be handy or I have never used or thought to use one one with long lenses in the past shooting wildlife & birds. But I will certainly test it out.

Even at higher shutter speeds in good light do you find it necessary?

Rob_O I like your X-E2 shot.

I have always found that some sort of remote trigger is vital when using long lenses. Now, I don't have any particularly fast glass, so unless I want a noisy image, a release of some sort is the way to go.

I was going through one of my old boxes of gear and came across my release from my Canonette days. I think its a 15 foot release that uses a bulb at one end, air hose in the middle, and a piston and pin at the other. I love the fact that these old accessories still work with current gear.

Fisheye shots are often love 'em or hate 'em. I've never been a big fan of the distortion, but have to admit I love using 'em. Here are a few from our recent trip to NYC, using the X-E1 with Rokinon/Samyang 8mm f/2.8. All taken with at either f/8 or f/11.

Hey Rob_O,

Just picked up the Samyang 8mm fish and am headed to NYC next week with an X-E1. Nice shots.

Has anybody ever messed with defishing this combo. Couldn't swing the 14mm just now, so thought I'd mess with the fisheye as is and also shoot with a thought towards maybe getting some corrected wideangle shots.

This is a defished shot from the Samyang. It's not an easy fisheye to defish because it has a unique projection (stereographic) that differs from what most other fisheyes use...it's almost a more rectilinear fisheye to start with, if that makes sense.
