First outing with a Minolta MC 50 mm macro; a good, sharp lens.

Two more. This was before sunrise in the gorge, so it was VERY dark. I didn't bring my remote release because I typically use 2 second timer on a tripod...it's less cumbersome, but that meant I couldn't do a bulb exposure. So this is with the 35/1.4 @ f/6.4, ISO 1600 and 30 seconds. Not bad for that.

This was about 10 minutes later, and enough light had filtered down to allow this exposure at f/8, 30 seconds and ISO 200. This one's with the 14/2.8 (cropped a little)

It has been nice and comfortable outside as Fall finally gets here in the South. It's typically 90+ with a humidity level of over 70%.

Lately, it has been around 70-75 degrees and it feels amazing. I took my son outside today to let him play for a bit (it's rare to be able to do this around here without ending up in a heavy sweat after about 10 minutes).

He was even nice to stop just long enough for me to take a photograph. This is from the 35mm F/1.4 on the X-E1:

I'm not getting out shooting nearly as much as I should.

That said, I took the camera to my daughter's mid-day festival and decided to try a shadows -2 on the NegH jpeg - turned out pretty well I think.

This is the first of a series of images that I took last evening, October 20, just before sunset near the top of Trexler Nature Preserve, Schnecksville, PA. Image taken with my tripod mounted Fujifilm X-E1 camera and my Minolta CLE MC Rokkor-M 40mm f2.0 lens and processed in LR5.2. I still have to process the other images.

Indeed, very nice!

You're making me even more excited about our trip there. Only 16 days from now, can't wait! May I ask which was your most used focal length(s) and if you ever felt you needed a tele lens? My plan is to bring X-E1 + 14mm and RX1. I do have the Fuji 55-200, but intend to leave it at home.

Thanks for the kind words! I find that I'm a 50mm person, and used it as much as I could... but having the 28mm there was great to walk around with and for taking wider shots! I can't imagine having to do Machu Picchu without a wider lens, I'm glad I had the 28mm. It was on practically the entire time for MP. I was also thankful of the speed of the 50mm f/1.4. Made for some nice shots in low light.

The only time in the entire trip that I missed not having a tele was in the Colca Canyon, specifically at the Condor Cross. Those condors are impressive and huge birds, but were quite far away. That being said, I found it liberating only taking those 2 lenses. I had MUCH less weight to carry and was able to run around freely to explore. I giggled as I walked by people with huge full frame DSLRS, HUGE teles, big heavy tripods and a big backpack filled with extra lenses.

In the desert, I was happy I had B+W UV filters protecting my lenses!

Here's 4 more:

Both sets a phenomenal! Glad to know that the Speedbooster seems to be a nice piece of kit.
