amazing shots - made more amazing by the fact that i think this is the rarer barrow's goldeneye. it has a crescent shaped spot next to the bill versus a round one for a common goldeneye. its forehead is also steeper than common goldeneye and it back has more black on its back than the common. all of these marks to me are more consistent with barrow's goldeneye. i pulled this photo from online since i do not have a common goldeneye of my own. if there is any issue with my doing this please let me know.

Didn't think these guys had such a knobby forehead. Definitely different for the plain old common ones. Nice shots Tony.

Very nice find! Awesome captures of DIF (duck in-flight) Tony! Both are nice, but I like wings down better.
