I am looking into buying the Voigt 20mm Colour Skopar, and the Voigt 40mm Ultron for a 5D. Can anyone tell me your experiences with the lenses? For instance, how does the 40mm compare in sharpness to the 50mm f/1.4 USM from Canon? How does the 20mm compare to the 17-40L?
Any help is appreciated.. I have been eyeing these..
I have experience with the Voigt 20. Great color, flare resistant BUT soft in the corners until ƒ/11, it just never really gets that sharp in the center even by ƒ/8. Not worth the price. If compact is your need, you'd be better served by a Leitaxed Oly 20/3.5, IMHO.
I have the 40/2 with Canon mount. It's a very nice and small lens. Great colors and rather sharp from wide open. A lot sharper than the Canon 50/1,4 wide open. But it doesn't have f/1,4 of course.
Ah, okay. I'm going to look into the Oly 21. Thanks! I think I may still get the 40/2, because I am still looking at just getting an 85 or 100 for the portrait/bokeh.
