Well -- I finally found what I was looking for - Ipad/Iphone TOUCH enabled gallery software.
I've used Dhina's fotoplayer for jalbum for years - which is flash and also Lightroom enabled skin.
Now he has released his HTML 5 gallery software plugin for jalbum -- that is ipad and iphone friendly and enabled -- so you can generate the gallery in jalbum using his latest skin and then upload the gallery to your web hosting server and folks can swipe their finger on the apple ipad and iphone and advance the gallery.
So tonight I purchased the commercial version of jalbum and then Dhina's latest HTML skin - "fotoslides".
I got it to work - a bit buggy on the first version, but I'm liking the concept to enable iphone/ipad Touch Gallery.
Not bad... Using it on my iPad there's a substantial hesitation when swiping to the next image.
Also, the swipe must be made directly on the image. This isn't a problem on landscape oriented images, but when viewing portrait oriented ones you have to be sure to get on the image.
Both of these are of course minor quips. Pretty cool.

I'm seeing some similar nits, and will keep studying it. He will come out with a pro version at some point like his fotoplayer for flash
