p.1 #1 · Lee or Cokin Z-Pro for 16-35VR?

Can anyone advise me on which filter holder system to buy for a Nikon 16-35?

I'm leaning toward the Cokin simply because I'll probably be able to actually get one.

Or is Lee worth the wait and extra cost?

I've owned both the Cokin Z-pro and the Lee, and between the two I definitely prefer the Lee.

Lee if you want to forward cokin Z if you want to buy again and then it will still be Lee.

don't forget to get the SWA or wide angle adapter rings not the standard ones.

yes of course they do. 4x4 4x6 for the standard holder. even 6x6 6x9 for the 150 filter holder

I looked at both and the quality of the Lee is superior ... it will stand up to the wear and tear ... not so sure about the Cokin

I have both the Cokin which I have used for many years, and the Lee which I have only had for a month, and I like the Lee better, it is a little heaver build quality. I bought mine on E-bay from England and received it in a week. Just two days ago B&H e-mailed my to say it was in stock.
To be honest either one will work fine.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

If I were to go for a Lee kit, what would be the best kit to go with, the starter, Digital SLR starter or Foundation? Keep in mind that I want to buy a big stopper as well.

Also, there's a 77mm adapter and a 77mm adapter for wide lenses, I take it that I need the wide angle one..?

i sort of messed that one up real badly. what i was trying to say was if you look towards using your equipment in the future and you buy a Z you'll still end up buying the lee in the end.

I recently purchased a Lee DSLR starter kit and 77mm wide angle adapter ring from these guys:

They are a very reputable seller and one of the few that I found selling the 77mm adapter rings. They shipped right away and I had it in about 7 days. Probably the way to go if you don't want to wait. Their prices seemed to be in line with what they are going for over here, except for the increase due to the conversion rate and extra shipping. I was happy with them. I don't see their add for the kits with the wide angle adapter rings, but they may have more coming. One thing is sure, you will not find Lee at bargain prices, but I don't regret the purchase.

I took the same line of thinking with my tripod, I bought a really high quality one (and head) that will pretty much last me forever.

Thanks for the eBay link, just working out the costs of buying either system.
