p.1 #1 · Peering up

An earlier image "looked down from the balcony", this one looking up the side of the building. Shapes and lines.

All C&C appreciated...

It does not work because of the angle/POV taken and some level of parallax. Good to see you are getting more experimental.

+1 @ parallax of left side vertical ... it diminishes it for me.

Agreed, couldn't figure out how to correct that - anyone?

My first impression was a staircase. I cropped and adjusted perspective to make it look more like one and adjusted the tonal range which I found to dark and dreary in the original like the appearance of an underdeveloped B&W neg.

Thanks Chuck,

I couldn't get beyond the 'being there' thing.

Play time

(Note: I didn't use any 'color' tools for this one ... this is what was already there.)

Its always so interesting and instructive to see what others do with an image.
My first reaction, Bob, is that the geometries are simply too many. Too many ideas for me; it felt disjointed.
Then I saw Kent's reworks. While I prefer the color, both unify the image.
Chuck's crop also serves to simplify the image, eliminating the last element on the left.

Agreed, did not remember to crop...want to think more on this one and take it in a different direction. Where remains to be seen.
