Aperture wide open with a flashlight shining into the front element. I see about 4 fuzzy-areas with a more dense center spot. Not sure what it is. Doesn't look like most of the fungus pictures I've seen...
If that's a new purchase with that used label attached to it...I'd return it. I see what also looks like slight circular etching from perhaps cleaning?
Thanks guys. Just got the 58mm f/1.2 from a certain NY-based camera store. Along with a Rokkor 28mm f/2 with a lazy aperture and a FDn 28mm f/2 with a terrible case of the bubbles. Not too impressed with their lens evaluations.
Yep, have had to deal with the white dots, too. Removing the lens elements and repainting the edges helps. It's quite a hassle, though. Wouldn't do it again.
It may also affect plastic parts in certain lenses, e.g. Mamiya glass. The white dots may occur when certain softening constituents volatilize.
