I bought this adapter:

trying to mount it on a ZF.1 25mm/2.8 lens.

It will not mount, though I have not tried muscling it on there. Are Novoflex adapters difficult to install? Or did I get the wrong adapter? My basic Fotodiox goes right on, no problem.

I swear, @#$%%^^ adapters!! Anything other than the cheapest Fotodiox adapters punk me everytime. %$#@! %$#@! %$#@!

The ZF/ZF.2 lenses aren't G lenses though. They have aperture rings, and are even compatible with some older bodies. Perhaps the little AI bit is getting in the way? I think you need the Novoflex EOS/NIK adapter instead (no NT).

I have a Novoflex EOS/NIK-NT and use it with a Voigtländer Nokton 58mm F1.4 SL. The mount on that lens is marked as N/AI-S. The fit is very tight and I have to use uncomfortably much force to get it on. Not to mention off. But the resistance is kind of smooth, so I don't get the feeling that I am going to break anything.

I tried a Novoflex R to EOS adapter on my Summicron-R 90/2, and it was very difficult to get on and off - exactly as described by alundeb. I expect it would be just as secure as a Leitax kit. OTOH, the Novoflex adapter cost $300, so I went with Fotodiox Pro.

Is it set to the minimum aperture? Thats the only way it fits on my Rok 85 1.4.

The lens or adapter? I did set the adapter, did not check the lens setting...

Hmmmm, I dunno, try everything you can. Focus wide open, stop down for flash, pretty useful. But honestly with an aperture ring its not worth the cash unless you already have a 14-24.

Paul: you used to be a safe cracker? Unhinging them vault doors requiring lube?

OT: I would not feel comfortable exerting that amount of force changing lenses. Have you checked the screws on the lens bayonet? A bayonet screw might be protruding ever so slightly, causing bind and grind.

Fine. I waxed that puppy up and still can't slide it in. Don't really want to get my thing stuck in the thing, either.

I hate it when that happens.
