I got mine two weeks ago and have been really impressed with the quality. I'll be posting some stuff in a day or two after the holidays. I want to contribute to this post... Amazing little camera.
Well i just got my 2013 calendars in the post, and they comprise a mix of 5D and X10 shots. I have to say i continue to be impressed by the X10. One of the calendars is A3 with the images printed at around 12x9 inches, and the X10 shots look great. Only the different colour rendition gives them away as being from a different camera to the 5D shots.

I recently did a comparison between my 5D (original) and my X10. I made 16"X 20" prints. No one I showed them to could tell the difference or could pick out which camera took which image.

This thread was a good shot at trying to show what the X10 can do. But very very few people look here or show any interest in the camera.
Can't say we didnt try.
The X10 is a nice and capable compact. I use mine a lot but mostly for work site documentation. Nothing of interest or worth sharing here. I do have some climbing pictures taken with it but they are from last year and posting old photos might not be very interesting either even though I've never posted them before.
I do lurk here guys and I appreciate your contribution and effort to keep the thread alive, don't give up just yet.

We are doing a lot of construction here too. I was in Shanghai about 4 years ago and the construction around that area was insane. Not to mention all the power cables leading into the city.
I lived in HK as a small child (early 50s).....I remember they were always building things then....all with scaffolding which was bamboo poles held together with rope at the joints...scary!!
I must admit this is the first time I visit this thread. Yes, the camera is not sexy for gear head for its 'tiny' censor, not very attractive for alt lens user but the quality of picture of this thread is pretty high. There is really little correlation between gear and photos. We all know that but this thread reinforce it.

Very true that it is the person behind the lens that makes the most difference. But don't underestimate the X10. The lens on this is blazing sharp, even wide open. It is a remarkable camera.
I actually think the camera is very attractive for the photographer - the handling is excellent, with a quality build and a lot of tactile qualities. It feels like a camera, rather than like a piece of plastic that takes pictures. The manual zoom in particular, is genius.
I'm currently debating whether i should spend the money to upgrade to the X20.
I tend to have a sort of natural aversion to upgrading to the very next model and mostly try to avoid it. But the X20 has reeled me in. Absolutely no doubt for me; it's my (hopefully) only new camera this year.
I also try to avoid such things, but the X20 does look like a real improvement. Taking the loss on the X10 and the premium for getting the X20 early, it won't be a cheap upgrade though.
If you nickel and dime it and keep the X10 at least you save up on the pennies.
I have the X10 and I use it a lot for work and some for play. Haven't even looked at the X20 yet.
15bit: I would not go as far and call the manual zoom genius. It is what I grew up with. For me it is plain normal. But of course I think it is great that they have it on the X10. I have always hated power zoom, focus by wire.
They introduced a "power zoom", a 35-80mm slow lens with zoom buttons for Canon EOS, this was way back in the film days and when I asked what it was good for my boss said "selling batteries".
How sexy is a 35-80mm power zoom with f4-5.6 on a slr, with zoom button?

I admit manual zooms are not a new idea, but as far as i know its the only compact on the market that sports one. So maybe not genius, but certainly an excellent and defining feature in my view.
I suspect i won't get the X20, simply because the X10 is more than good enough and i don't want to spend the money. If Adobe's RAW processing for the X-trans sensor gets to be good i might change my mind though - the only real complaint i have about the X10 is that the RAW's are difficult to process.
