p.3 #2 · Why I am not switching back to Nikon.. or did I ever leave?
You are still missed on the Manual Focus Nikon Glass thread Gregory. I agree, you'll always be a Nikon shooter to those of us who've followed your work there and elsewhere. Yes, we were SHOCKED when we learned your were letting go of those great lenses that were part of your kit. Most understood that you were working on a project that required video and moved to Canon for that reason. We also understood that to get where you needed to go you had to liberate dollars tied up in Nikon gear to make it possible. Sometimes a man's got to what a man does. Like others here, I wish you well with your Canon adventure. But I do want you to give me BOTH your cat, and your username... You have to admit I'm much more deserving of the name than you are at the moment...

Indeed. I think anyone writing at this length (ie the OP) ought to consider whether gross deficiencies in spelling and grammar - a simple spell check would solve at least one of these - endorse or undermine the content.

Looks like many people are more concerned with "I before E except after C" than anything else. Too bad.
Cool post. When I first switched to Nikon your Nikkor 28/1.4D post made me spend $2200 on a lens I had never even heard of. That was a sweet post and a sweet lens.

Some recent Canon Images..

First off I am not telling anyone to read this thread. Feel free to ignore me anytime. It makes you feel better. Thanks to everyone who has hung in this far. I hope my next thread makes it worth you while to keep reading.
I posed shots of me and my camera/camera's.
Kind of an inisde joke in my little circle. ( getting somewhat bigger since the internet) and that was I never had "my" picture taken so.. I started taking my own. And now it's sort of a ritual.
Perhaps, I dont look like such a loser when I am with the pretty blonde.
And sometimes it's interesting to look in the mirror and see what is revealed.
As far as shooting garbage. What Can I say. Like my Pal Keven Fiderco say's "Once we take a picture of iit. "Now it's Art" Lets just say I have a strong desire in finding beauty in things that been discarded. And I personal believe the reason many images are not taken is becuase the photographer's are worried about what other's might say.
I remember a story about one of my pals Jim Turner who got me into shooting abstracts when at a time I had almost quit shooting. Again the stress and presuure to make money. Take pretty pictures that are socially acceptable. Can be a heavy burden and in my experience can cripple a
photographer's unique vision that "we" all have.
Anyways one of Jims wife saw him crawling out of a dumpster and ... soon after Jims Camera where up for sale... OO
This one is for you Jim
Rollie twin on Tri-X inside a dumster
And the fact is, When you get right down to it. It's not really about what it is. But more does it make you feel .
And the other thing who is anyone to tell me what to shoot?
Besdes the critics and haters dont own the internet.... I do
It's like photographing cats and posting images. I have no problem posting shots of kitty's
Leica M9 and 50 1.0 Noctilux
As far bad spelling and punctuation . Sorry, my editor Cat is really busy right now. And she won't even read my threads unless she can edit. It drives her nuts.
What else...
What's thread about...Hmmm
Feel free to analize my free assoition anyway you like. It's been a long day. And for me .I am using this post wind down.. So I can get a least a couple of hours of sleep before I got to get up at 5.00
So what it's about .. lets just say it's becoming ...oo
Thanks for the support. Enjoy some images.

This thread and some of the comments have made me start reflect on my time in Toronto when I was home less sleeping in stairwells with my Nikon and my bag of slides and poems under my head as pillow. Hoping that someone wouldnt steal the bag full of these images.
I was so scared that something would happen to that bag full of slides and poem...
And I used to wake in a cold sweat "fearing " that these images would never be seen by anyone but me. Since I have been posting on the net. I dont have that dream anymore. Now I barley sleep but that's another matter. Ha ha

a snap here, a snap there, an impression of a moment in time and place..... everything tells a story, even the garbage, maybe especially the garbage.... stream of consciousness through the lens... and the keys...

Ignore the negative folks Gregory - some of us know what you are about and enjoy your images and postings. Your type of photography is not like mine, but that doesn't mean I can't learn from you and appreciate your images and thoughts.
I've taken some purposeful, drastic turns and changes in my life, against the opinions of many, and I've always looked back and was thankful for my decisions. Keep us posted on the new direction and keep posting some of your "old" stuff.
