I'm on the fence about the effects, but as in the lensbaby shot you posted previously with your daughter, you def. know how to make the most of these lenses. I had the original lensbaby and sold it because I didn't have the patience to squish and move and focus all at once, lol. But I checked the website and the lensbaby has grown up!
The question I seem to have when I see not only lensbaby photos but even very, very shallow depth of field photos - does the "average" person "get it?" I showed my husband a photo I had done with some NIK plug-ins and he asked (very nicely) "Is it a touch out of focus?" To be clear, I love shallow depth of field photos, bokeh, etc.

Sharon, I think the BIGGEST problem with Lensbaby photos is that they are often over-used and used on everything. Like everything else, there is a time and a place.
As for posting these images just to give a plug to Lensbaby, you couldn't be more wrong. I took these images during the session I shot with Danielle and loved them (personally) and was excited to share them. Due to the lens not being released to the public until yesterday, I had to sit on them a while. Whether people like them or not and do or don't want this lens is none of my concern. My intent was to share an image that *I* liked. That's it, seriously.

I think it looks great. As artists, we have to expand our perceptions and dimensions. A lot of times, I'm not in agreement with some examples that don't suit me so much, but I will have to admit that for its genre it looked damn nice. Well done Lisa.

I find this quite interesting. It's a great composition, setting and model. I like the focus attention on her face but then my eyes wander off to the focus on the building and then further to the left to a weed that is in focus at the left edge. I'm not sure that's what I would want a viewer to do.
I don't know much about tilt/shift though I have been tempted to rent one and play. It seems odd that elements in such disparate planes are in focus while other elements in the same planes are not. My mind just can't seem to comprehend that.
Again though, nice photo overall and I enjoy all of your work. Thanks for your posts!
