I got a D700, and happy I did. I don't need a D800.

I'm thinking of selling my D7000. Most of the ones I see for sale are lower miles and they sell for $900 - $1000 typically. Mine has about 32,000 clicks, but is well cared for and looks fine, no problems.

How much discount should there be for # of clicks? What would you pay if you were buying a used one with mileage like mine?

this will help me sort my thoughts.. and I might conclude its best just to keep it.

How many clicks? It only has a 150,000 cycle shutter.

they are going for 900 - 1000 here on FM with less clicks than mine.

You can always come down, but you can't go up (unless you are on TV

)

I checked Fleabay and they were in that price range.

Amazon used were starting at $1,346.00

sorry, i beg to differ. if you over price something a lot of people (like me) won't even bother replying to you since it looks like you aren't a serious seller. it does no good on a site like this one to try to 'aim high' when most people here know what the market is on the gear they are looking for.

if it were me i'd probably start by asking $950 or so (if you really want to sell it) and see what you get. then again, that is just my opinion. i don't like to have a ton of price negotiations so when i am selling i know where the gear should sell and ask right around there. if you don't need to sell but only want to sell at a high price, then i would try ebay...some stuff does trade really high there, but almost never on here.

I agree. I kinda know what it might bring and to move it fast, price would matter. Just was hoping to get others' thought on how much shutter clicks discount prices of good cameras like D7000. I don't want to over-discount it.

Why don't you simply look on the B&S Forum and/or on eBay and see what they have sold for

I have... most on FM have lower shutter clicks.

FleeBay - people there are idiots. I saw a D300 bid to almost a $1000. People get into those one-minute click wars and worry about the credit card later. and you never know which auctions end up as no -pays... I really dislike feeBay.

i have one at around 21,000, I was thinking that if I was going to sell it here I would list it around $900. It cost just over 1100 so $200 for a years use would be alright. I think if you were wanting to move it fast I would have to list it at $850 paypal on top & half shipping.

The only way I can afford a D800 right now is if I sell the lenses I would use on it so I am keeping my D7000 for now

Nikon List is $1199

$950 is a good starting point from what I recall but you really need to check what the competition in the B/S forum is listing at.

I got mine as a refurb from Adorama last early Dec for 1100 as I recall with 1200 or so clicks on it - perfect shape, short-term warranty, return by end of Jan no questions asked and free-shipping

i just sold mine on ebay for 1199 + shipping. not high mileage as yours but almost a year old so couple thousand snaps. posted it at midnight and it was sold by 4pm same day.

everyone asks what's the shutter count. was receiving this question several times per hour.

people really want this camera but can't find it in stores so they go to ebay.

it seems reasonable because you're talking about a educated crowd. the general population on ebay/amazon will pay more.
