Ray - in the beginning (catchy phrase, eh?) I had dark planks and it did not work for me. but thanks for your views.
John - glad you agree.
Charlie - all of my shots are IR, as the camera knows only IR, not giving me any choice! hence the dark, contrasty sky is an IR product. but appreciate your comments.

B&W viewers - I am not getting notices that you have sent me email about my images. I always click the appropriate box when submitting images but this does not work, for some reason. has anyone else had this problem with Fred's software? how do I get this corrected? I have found no direct way to contact Fred.

I really like this image on multiple levels. I like the tones in it (...and I agree that the mid tones look great). I like the sky. I like the composition and I like the leading lines that obscure the end of the pier, leaving some question or mystery to it.
