How many of these posts are there going to be?
How many posts are there going to be where some grump goes into a clearly labelled D800 thread to complain about how it's a D800 thread?
Can't we just, as a species, finally accept that not 100% of everything ever posted on the internet is personally tailored to our specific interests and just quietly avoid them without feeling the need to tell the world?
Being grumpy about someone being grumpy.....I'm so meta!

Looks like it's targeted at the 5D2. Essential camera features, standard body, high MP count. That was the niche of the 5D2. This camera will be around for years to come. Glad to see Nikon isn't releasing high end/low end cameras but two different cameras aimed at two different types of users. D4 for those who need ultimate durability and speed. And the D800 for those who need extreme detail and quality.

Did someone say the MP war was over??
Seems Nikon have caught the disease from Canon..good!
As for 36MP having used the 1DsMk3 extensively only primes will only be able to make use of it at full rez.
As for any landscape work with a stepped down 14-24 welcome to diffraction city..

The beast is out from the dark side, will have to see the Canon respose
Nikon rumors has the full press release
from now on nikon should make all of their bodies with EOS mount and Canon all of their bodies with nikon mount, then everyone will be happy instead of both forums going nuts with each release
