I haven't been here for a while as I was in India. Anyway, I'm back only to find that nothing has changed and there's still no beginner's WA. Oh well. I'll just revert to my old faithful model. Nothing's changed here either.....
BTW, can anyone do me a small favour and please get rid of the purple cast? I am lousy at PP. TIA.
EDIT: Despite favourable comments on the original pic I was not totally pleased with it and wanted to add a bit more action. I thus used my other faithful model.
Hope this helps you, I did this on my laptop so you can drag it to your Desktop and
do what you want with it. I won't feel bad if you don't like it just trying to help you out. Good luck.
Welcome back! Gorgeous capture Yakim. :-) I just read about your chilli eating antics, suffice to say I'm very impressed, I'm not surprised you felt a bit shaky after that! lol Mx

Much obliged Mairi. It's nice to be back.
The chili event was pure stupidity on my side. I am not the kind of man who wants to be in the spotlight, nor do I look for extreme stuff. All I thought was: "20 seconds? I could handle 20 seconds". Well, of course I could, but I didn't stop to make a slight reality check: "Wait. But what will happen afterwards?".
A few hours after the competition I was admitted to the hospital due to acute abdominal pain. It was the most severe pain I have ever felt. Just imagine a grown up man lying on the floor, his head inside his knees, hyperventilating and crying continuously. And it went on like that for more than an hour.... Later the doctor told me that I could actually died from a heart attack (because of the massive dosage of Adrenalin). Of course, minor things like ulcer or pancreatitis could also happened....
Ever since I've nicknamed myself as "The silly chili King".

Thanks a lot Jim but I tell you, it's not me it's her. She's really something special.
BTW, I'd like to thank Craig who sent me the current version. This is exactly what I was looking for. Must learn PS.... Must learn PS.... Must learn PS....
Oh dear, the after effects of your chilli eating sound very frightening and painful. Hope you're fully recovered now. An event not ever to be repeated I should say! I'm surprised they allow such competitions if there is risk of heart attacks etc. I can hardly manage to eat one chilli let never mind 11! Still, something to tell the grandchildren ;-)

The regular participants (i.e. the Naga people) were required to undergo a physical check and sign a wave of responsibility (is this the correct term?) to the festival organizers. But the tourists? Nada. Just a quick blood pressure test. I was actually very surprised when the doctor smiled at me and raised his thumb up. I'm sure my blood pressure was in the sky at these seconds before the start, possibly half way to the moon actually.
And BTW, this is not your average, good mannered and regular chili. I eat these regularly and enjoy them a lot. It is a Naga Chili. The hottest chili in the world.
After the competition I became a real celebrity there. I was interviewed to television and newspapers and many recognized me and asked how I am doing. However, when asked about next year I always said: "I'd love to visit this country again but I will not defend my title".
Yes, indeed it is. Already it is a good story to friends. The wife almost got a fit when she heard how painful it was and about the hospital admission. Of course, I only told her that after I got back, so she could personally witness that all is well. In fact, it was all fine from the next day and afterwards.

Wow... words to live by - steer clear of the hot chili's heheh. Nice capture!
Absolutely. I will now steer clear of these explosive devices. Really, it was like a time bomb as the worst effect appeared a few hours after the competition ended.
I'm glad that you like the original pic but I decided to spice things up.

Nice shot Yakim. It's good to see you back, and I'm glad you didn't have a heart attack eating the chili! That sounds like some mean stuff.
Thanks Mark. I hope you think the new one is a nice one too.
Yep. That specific chili is indeed very nasty stuff.
