No, it's not a dud .
In my case, it's the kind of image that I sometimes have trouble responding to.
But I'll give it a go. I'm a contrast freak, so yes- I'd like the main tree to be darker, and in sharper focus. But how much would that change the feeling of "fog?"
Small nit- I'd clone out the branches on the lower left.
Otherwise, I think it's a fine image- and processed well.

I agree with Charlie. Contrast. Subject matter & perspective is nice and I think some work in PP will raise it a level. Good luck and enjoy the process. art
Thank you Charlie / Art for your comments...have processed a different picture from the same series...did a bit more aggressive adjustments...hopefully this captures the mood and contrast better...Please do let me know how this fares up...
did the bottom left branch clone out to clean up the picture as suggested by Charlie...
Thanks Charlie....i forgot to do the sharpening when i posted the second version but did it later....and didn't had a chance to post it here due to the SUPER BALL game....neways, here is my version (unsharp mask with 0.5% radius and 0% threshold)....i applied the unsharp mask on the whole picture and not just the tree...
and don't mind your picture here....i like what you have done on it... thanks for taking the extra effort...
