I love the second image... the flash would have detracted from the reality that #2 conveys.

WOW! goes to show how much I know!

It is great to see the response to the second image... very useful input to me. Thanks to all that responded. I will keep that in mind in the future... although I am not sure when I'll get a chance for a close encounter like this...

Great catch Enrique, it looks like he's got a conger eel. I've caught them while codfishing before, offshore Massachusetts in 300 feet of water. Stellwagon Bank. They get much bigger and uglier too.
