Hello from St. Kitts! Time to get away from the US Midwest winter for a week. The beach vendors were letting us take pictures of their cute velvet monkeys. This is a 6 month old baby.
Thanks Norm. This little guy was an amazing animal. Such intelligence in a small package. I was thrilled when he got into the owner's hand and I could see five hands in the same shot. That was special.
Very nice capture, with the guy above tough, seems like it def must be an hdr, unless you were able to get that effect by moving the monkey directly over the sun? but very fun and well shot.

Very fun. Nicely done. Almost looks a little HDRish, did you do anything special in the processing?

Thank you Steve,
I did use some tonemapping to brighten up some dark areas of his fur, but otherwise it was just normal photoshop work. My little P&S camera has some interesting processing built-in so that is part of it too.

Thank you, and it was not a HDR per se, but a singe image that was tonemapped to bring up some shadow areas and then overall processing as normal in PS.

Very nicely done Mark! I agree, capturing all five hands in the shot just makes it! ~Jamie
Thanks Jamie,
The little guy didn't want to leave his owner's shoulders to get in his hand for the shot. The owner finally put a little sugarcane in his hand to entice him and dropped it after he ate a few bites.
