Here's a first shot from a visit to Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi. It's the largest mosque in the country and is pretty impressive.
It was overrun with tourists but I managed to slip away to some quieter areas for a few photos. This first shot is a stitch from 15 images taken with the 2/35ZF2 which renders fantastic detail and tonality. Stitched in PTGui before final processing in CS5 and Silver Efex.

WOW ! that is one amazing shot ! ( well 15, but I am talking about the result)
It is sharp from corner to corner, the lens really paid for itself just by this image.
Just curious, how did you end up with 15 shots? Which camera did you use ?

Thanks guys - shot on a Nikon D700 and Carl Zeiss 35mm. Manual focus (obviously!) at an estimate of the hyperfocal dostance for the scene and handheld, scanning from bottom left across and up. It's a big scene to fit in, hence the 15 shots.

Thanks J.R.
It's a piece of cake really - try out a free trial version of PTGui and away you go. This was handheld so just remember to scan the entire scene for the brightest area of the exposure and meter for it, turn to full manual mode and nail down the exposure, focus wherever you want and then lock it down, adjust your white balance to a preset for continuity and shoot away with a reasonable overlap to give yourself a better stitch

This is a magnificent place and somehow you have managed to capture some of the size, detail and fantastic architecture. I cant begin to choose a favorite. They are all outstanding!
Thanks for showcasing this wonderful site and a part of the world I have never seen. Its a special treat. Keep them coming!
