Now thats one powerful looking Gorilla Charlie and a very nice pic.
I agree with you that he may be dreaming or perhaps pondering the meaning of life.

Thanks Martin- for your polite response.

Ron, one of the reasons I posted this image was because of a psychological study I'm doing about the behavior of the socially inept. Thanks for your contribution to the study

Even though good zoos seldom (if ever) take animals from the wild any more, and even though good zoos treat their animals much better than ever and provide much-improved habitats for them, still- when I look into the eyes of a great ape, I feel a definite sadness. But then, if it weren't for this zoo, I'd never have seen a gorilla. And- except for zoos in general- most people would never see anything more than a few of their local wild species.
Like most people, I'm conflicted.
As this big guy probably is. But he does have his family with him- even though it was an "arranged" marriage.
