Pretty crazy stuff there. I do a good bit of falconry hunting photography and have never seen one go after something that much larger than itself. Amazing too the falcon didn't get hurt by the goose with all the wing flailing that went on. Interesting to read this bird eventually met its match with a eagle. Many falcons meet their demise in areas inhabited by Golden Eagles. The eagles watch from afar and after the falcon makes its kill and starts to feed...the eagle comes in for both.
Quite a study in predator prey behavior...from the looks of it this was a falconer's bird and certainly took on pretty big birds.
Not easy to watch but very interesting. Thanks
Eric
I'm with PeeDeeDD on this ... quite amazing the falcon didn't get a broken wing out of it. Seems to me it did have a sort of "pit bull training" instilled in it by its handler.
Actually, I take that back.......that doesn't look like falconry hunting, it's more like falconry goose killing as a "sport" of sorts. Naturally, I could be wrong.
