p.1 #1 · Anemone (3+1)

From another rainy weekend.
I do try different angles and views of flowers but with Anemone I always seem to end up with something like #3.
Thanks for looking.
Chris

Chris, there is just something about #2 that appeals to my senses a lot.
The other images are nice and viable, but #2 is my pick.

I like #2 and #3 a lot! The positioning of 2 with the flow of the petals and the leaves is really cool. The colors of 3 are stunning.

Chris, nice series. Really like 2 & 3 . The flower looks as if it is bowing very gracefully in 2

Fine job Chris! #3 rocks for me! Anemones can be difficult to shoot.

On 1 and 2, I'd suggest perhaps reducing your flash output by one or two stops which will help reduce the blown out area near the top, that washes out the color a bit. Or, get yourself one of those 5 in 1 reflector sets, and use the inner diffuser between the light source and the flower. That helps me tremendously when I need higher light output for proper exposure, but want to soften and spread it out. Anyway, these are just nits....

Cheers~!

Many thanks Peter. I agree with the 'something about part'

Many thanks Tim. I cut off a slide from the right and reposted #2.
The great thing about a black BG is the possibility to make the image bigger and crop differently.

Many thanks Greg. I really appreciate your extended comments.
I reposted a little retouch of #2 & 4. I really don't mind nits comments if it comes from someone like you.
Thank you for your flash and diffuser tip.

Really nice set Chris with lovely colors and textures.
# 3 works for me with its pattern radiating out from the center although I usually try to avoid centering them.
Maybe a little bit of shadow removal would bring more detail out in the center of that flower.

I'm with #2 Chris, with its simple and well organized frame and a pleasing balance of colors. It also shows some fascinating detail of the petals
The other images are fine as well, however they don't have the same impact of #2 IMO

Thank you Martin.
I know what you mean by avoiding centering but Anemone have this centre of the universe kind of thing going on.
Thanks for your suggestion. I did a minor retouch and reposted #3.

Thank you Socrate. I'm pleased how #2 turned out.
Now, if I just knew how I did get there I would be able to shoot more like this.
