The pecker is my favourite. Very pleasant shots all around. A few comments: * The chickadee might have been misfocused on and/or there was a bit of a motion blur. Those birds should be really shot with much higher shutter speed, like 1/1600 sec or even faster. In addition, a twig interferes with the view of the bird, obviously it would be better if the twig wasn't there. However, that's one of those things.... * Looks like the Distelfink was not focused on right, instead, the camera AF went to a twig in front of it. That is a pretty difficult AF situation, and using FTM focussing might have helped. Were you using Nikkor 500 f/4 VR lens ? Pod or handheld ? Jan 25, 2012 at 09:06 PM

It was over cast and snowing so the light wasn't very good and I like to get that lens stoped down as much as possible so the shutter speed had to take a hit. The D7000 handles noise well at ISO 1600 but not much higher. I'm doing the best that I can with a limited budget and limited amount of time I can get out an shoot. Jan 25, 2012 at 11:09 PM
