After viewing the RAW at 100% its definitely not a 7D thats for sure. Is that a 600mm 4 ii?

After viewing the JPEGs, everyone in this thread determined it wasn't a 7D

And yes, he's using a 200-400 and the new 600 f/4.

Thanks for that!

That's a weird looking bird he's taking a photo of!

Give he's using Contrast detect AF, this might be a sign that the AF is rubbish

(Stand up and view your monitor from a higher angle if you can't see the pic on the lCD)

That thing looks more like a rubber suit monster in a Godzilla movie or Ultraman episode.

Also note the tiny bit of tape covering the Canon logo under the LCD.

That's funny that they do that. Like you couldn't tell it was a Canon from 2.7 miles away...

I haven't read all the posts about this but if no one else has said it (and it's genuine), take a look at the eyepiece cover, this a 1-series style, not a 5D style. This bodes very well that it might be a '3D' or at least a more 'professional' 5 series to me.

Sorry, Itīs an exacly 7Ds eye cover copy, dhphoto. That was next to the design why I thought it is a 7D first. I was missing just the flash. What made me believe it could be the 5D follow up. Or something new.
Fact is too, that the screen is no 2/3 aspect ratio. It looks like 16:9. So it is something new. No manufacturer did that before.

HaHa... so weird, I just posted my guess for the specs over in the 200-400 thread and then came here to see Peter's specs match exactly what I guessed. These specs seem to make logical sense to me. Canonrumors says NDA ends Feb7th (same day as rumoured D800 announcement).

It needs 8fps minimum. D700 did 8fps almost 4yrs ago @ 12.1MP. It should be easy for Canon to do 18MP @ 8fps in 2012.

I wouldn't care if it didn't even have a burst mode.

It might be 4-5 fps (good enough for me) but your price is too low how about $3200 ?.

That would be much more expensive then 5D MK II at its introduction. I think It will lay between 7D and 5D MK II. They will merge this line, too I guess.

assuming the resolution remotely stays the same ( cropability ) and IQ, I as a wedding photographer would love a better and more reliable auto focus system. Secondly in my list of requests would be even better high iso capability. Lastly would be 1/250 native sync for flash. heck even more MP wouldnt be bad.

After that - everything is icing on the cake. Not too concerned about low shutter noise or higher shutter speed, though those would all be nice.

If there was a noticeable jump in the items I had listed, Id jump on it.

16:9 and a seperate movie button - I dont like it. Cameras are for taking photos - not making i-movies. Release a low tier C-series camera, but please stop on the regular camera series.

Peter, if this is true, let me know if there is a way to attach my 17TSE and 24TSE to the D800...
