Yeah I know, probably not what you are expecting with the recent irruption of, I can hardly say it, SO's on the board!! No hard feelings or anything, but I have yet to have the OPPORTUNITY FOR SNOWY OWLS!!!! Okay, got that off my chest. So, I had to find a way to at least to get "Snowy" in the post title.
As many of you are aware we are thawing out from a week of winter here in the area (no laughing, it was winter for us!). I set up a blind in my backyard which consisted of a folding chair up under the eave of the house and a golf umbrella held between my knees. We had a nice variety of visitors to the feeders and they seemed especially tolerant of my blue and yellow umbrella. I tried a couple of new tools here, first time with the BB and some new processing. Well enough rambling, here are some pics.
Well done Doug. Best for me is No.5.
I think the fill flash is a bit on the higher side, especially with the chickadees. Some more practice with the BB will get you there.

At least you got outside Doug! That's more that I can say for a lot of chicken littles around here
Wonderful set of the local little winter denizens. The Chestnut is an absolute darling of a shot, wish I had one of those guys. Black Capped 2 is my pick of those guys, full of character for sure. Juncos are a favorite of mine, I love to watch these guys hopping around the yard. The look you got in 8 is priceless That and the last are my picks of the those guys.
Real nice all around Doug, sharp images, nice perches and some snow to boot!

Thanks N. Histograms didn't show any blown areas. I did try to tone down the highlights some to bring out detail. I'll keep working it and hopefully keep learning.

Thanks Tim, the chestnut was a treat, I have another couple that are rare, at least for me coming soon. The juncos are entertaining, they were going more directly to the feeder with the snow, I got these captures as they planned their attacks. I graduated from DPP to another processing tool that has me excited. I feel like I need to go back and reprocess all the images I have!
