I was raised 30 miles from Huntington Beach, and it was the favorite with me and my buddies when we bought our first cars at age 16. Way back then, everything about the pier was wood (except the nails ). Alas, my interest in photography came many years later. I am less partial with the color remaining in the shot, not because of the color per se, but because the water is brownish on the right, and blueish on the left.
