Thanks for all the suggestions. I think it is time for some test prints and experimentation. I've been happy with the Epson R3000 Advanced B&W Photo capabilities. I've also downloaded the ICCs for the three sample packs that I have; one each from Epson (Signature Worthy Sample Pack), Canson Infinity (Dsicovery Pack), and Red River (Pigment Ink Sample Kit).
The Epson Sampler comes with:
- Hot Press Bright
- Hot Press Natural
- Exhibition Fiber Paper
- Cold Press Bright
- Cold Press Natural
- Velvet Fine Art Paper
- Ultra Premium Photo Paper Luster
The Canson Discover Pack comes with:
- BFK Rivers
- Arches Velin Museum Rag
- Edition Etching Rag
- Rag Photographique
- Platine Fibre Rag
- Photo HighGloss Premium RC
- PhotoGloss Premium RC
- PhotoSatin Premium RC
- Arches Aquarelle Rag
- Montval Aquarelle Rag
- Mi-Teintes
The Red River Pigment Ink Sample Pack comes with:
- Polar Pearl Metallic
-Arctic Polar Gloss
- UltraPro Gloss 2.0
- Polar Matte
- Premium Matte Paper
- River Linen
- GreenPix
- Arctic Polar Luster
- Arctic Polar Satin
- UltraPro Satin 2.0
- Aurora Fine Art White
- Aurora Fine Art Natural
- Zeppelin SemiGloss
- Paper Canvas
I have a high quality test graphic with 16 photos (4 are B&W) that I may use to print on each of the above to generate a paper comparison book - the photos include a nice variety of people, landscapes, high saturation, and subtle hues.
I also have a box of Hahnemuhle Fine Art Bamboo (11x17) that I haven't tried yet. However, I think it will be better for subtle color prints.
Thanks all for the inputs...Jim
