I assume this is an example of Baroque architecture. The painted vaults and polished marble floors appear to be in excellent condition. I guess compared with a basilica or a cathedral, this would be indeed a small church, however, the way you portrayed it suggests is is actually quite a large building ? In any event, nicely done.

Greg - nicely shot. Just a small nit is the reflections on the floor in #1 - draws my eye away from the subject.

It is a gothic design if I remember my arches (pointed). A little searching (which I should have done prior to posting I guess) is that it is the Santa Maria sopra Minerva. It was the first gothic basilica in Rome (1370) built over a Roman temple dedicated to Minerva, the facade was remodeled in the Baroque style, then changed again in the 1800's.
I guess it isn't a small church, we had been seeing larger structures that day.

An excellent interpretation of a beautiful church.
My nit has nothing to do with you, Greg- and I understand the necessity for them... but those cross-piece supports interfere with the wonderful, curving lines and shapes of the spectacular architecture, and once I noticed them, I can't "not see" them.
