Well, I still recognize a few names here ...This fellow (a few of us unofficially call him Edward Scissortail) appeared just after the local Christmas Bird Count and is favoring a patch of green wedged between a freeway and container terminals here in my home town of San Pedro (i.e. the Port of Los Angeles) I thought I'd have to travel to at least Texas to see one. Let's see, shall I ask for a Green Jay for our next rare visitor? Taken with the 7D/500mm/1.4xTC, and run through both DPP and PSPX2.

Best Wishes,
Steve

Howdy back and thanks, Will! I'm still planning on going to Bosque one of these millennia. I still have my trailer and am still threatening to retire. I wasn't into birding/photog much last year but am finally getting back into the swing of things. I see there are a few new features here, like the EXIF option. I think I'll stay at FM for a spell again...

Only $20 a night? Sheesh, and I'm a 30-amp guy too... Yer making it tough to resist, Will! First have to re-hab my trailer after a long stay under cover at a local hole masquerading as a "storage area". I'll let you know when I head East, accompanied by a crate o' microbrews.

Great looking bird! You'll have to pay him to settle on a branch. Too bad it was on a wire, but still a good image, and a great find.

Ken, he could be on a trash dump and we'd be happy, he's so rare for our area. The area he seems to favor for his "flycatching" is behind "No Trespassing" signs and the shrubs and branches for "natural perches" are up the hill further away, so I'm grateful for the closeup on the wire.

Thanks,
Steve

Retirement? Nope, I haven't taken the plunge yet. I don't think I can retire on a $1500-a-month pension and that's gross, not clear, so that's REALLY gross! But I still have the trailer and will be taking it out and about this year. AND let's not forget PITA...Still have that little bit left to do.

Thanks Tim!

Hey Steve, I am lucky to be retired. I woke up this morning and looked around and found nothing to do, but by the end of the day I only got half of it done. Nice capture. Bruce

I've ALWAYS wanted to see one of these Scissor-tails too, Larry, but figured I'd have to go east at least Texas to find one. Sure is a thoughtful bird to have dropped by here and saved all that gas!

Thanks,
Steve
