Tom- Life among the sand dunes of Daeth Valley can be rough.
So can the textures. Especially when your strange-yet-successful processing emphasizes it.

Although I've never been there (November 2012 maybe?) I am told that life in DV is extremely harsh and unrelenting. It's all part of the beauty of this place. Your image depicts that very well.
